The lack of basic amenities like a kitchen further complicated our experience, leaving us dissatisfied with our stay.

The bathroom was particularly troublesome, with a wobbly toilet seat and exposed electric cables posing safety concerns. the lack of basic amenities like milk or sugar for coffee added to our dissatisfaction, especially for the price point. it was a mixed bag of experience, with potential but needing serious attention to details.

chalkcroft lodge was a truly hidden gem! the hosts were super helpful and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment i arrived. the place is really spacious and has a nice layout, def one of the best spots for a mini break. you got everything you need for a short stay, including comfy beds and a beautiful setting. plus, the local pub had fab home-cooked food, which was awesome after a long ride.

only downsides were no kitchen and the quilts were way too thick for the heat. could've used summer quilts instead.
